About Cynthia

Cynthia is a Wellness and Nutritional Consultant and a certified Reflexologist. She is the owner of Metamorphosis Consulting and has been in private practice for over ten years. She firmly believes "You are what you eat!"  Everything we taste, smell, see, touch, feel, and even think directly impacts our health, our attitudes, and our ability to live an extraordinary life. Cynthia's mission is to teach others how to nourish the body, mind and spirit by creating balance.  Balance is the key to living a successful, happy, healthy life.

Cynthia is an advocate of REAL food and a walking testimony of the benefits of a healthy, holistic lifestyle.  She wants others to know there are alternatives to most conventional methods of healing, nutrition, and disease prevention. She suffered for years with depression, the chronic aches and pains of fibromyalgia,  ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and rapidly growing uterine fibroid tumors.  After years of therapy, anti-depressant medications, and countless surgeries, she resolved herself to a life of sadness and pain.  When Cynthia was thirty-five years old, her OB-GYN insisted on doing a complete hysterectomy.  In his opinion, this was the only way to end her depression, pain and suffering. She refused to submit to such an invasive, life-changing surgery, "fired" her doctor, and began working with a well-known psychologist who taught her how to use her mind to manage pain. She spent countless hours in libraries searching for answers and discovered several studies on women with similar symptoms.  The majority of their health issues had been resolved with a plant-based diet.  Determined to heal herself naturally without drugs, hormones or surgery, Cynthia eliminated all meat, dairy products and processed foods from her diet.  She practiced meditation and yoga to get in touch with her own body and its miraculous ability to heal itself.   Six months later, she was completely pain free and no longer depressed.  In thirteen years, her uterine tumors have not grown nor has she ever experienced any further complications. She looks forward to embracing the "change" naturally and gracefully.

Cynthia's own personal experience inspired her to receive the proper training to teach and help others.  She earned her graduate's degree from The Institute for Integrated Nutrition, Columbia University in NY. She is a certified Wellness Counselor, Reflexologist, and a board certified member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She is the owner of Metamorphosis Consulting where she works with both men and women--helping them to heal their unhealthy relationships with food so they achieve their goals and enjoy happy, fulfilling, balanced lives. Cynthia has also had the privilege of working with cancer survivors, diabetics, recovering drug addicts and alcoholics, and those who have finally had enough of the up again-down again diet roller coaster ride.

Cynthia currently resides in NY with her cat, P'aqu. She works with clients in person, over the phone, and via the internet. She is in the process of writing a novel about her successful and not so successful attempts  to live an authentic life. In her spare time she reads, writes a daily health and wellness blog, converts recipes to healthier versions, practices yoga, buys shoes, and tries to convince her carnivorous boyfriend to eat her vegetarian cooking.
